Time it takes to apply online. Applying online takes 5 to 15 minutes. You’ll be asked a few questions for us to better understand your qualifications.

Information to include. Don’t forget to upload your resume. Include your college grade point average (GPA), past employment experiences and contact information — especially an email address.

After you submit your application. If you meet the minimum requirements for the position, your application is reviewed by a recruiter.

When Cargill will contact you? After applying for a position, you will immediately receive an automatic email confirming we have your application. If the recruiter decides you are a strong job candidate, you will be contacted for additional information or to schedule an interview.

Tips to a more successful application

  • Apply for all positions you are interested in and for which you are qualified. If you create a profile and do not apply for a particular position, your resume will appear only if a recruiter conducts a general search, and you meet the minimum requirements.
  • Update your resume with relevant information to the position for which you’ve applied.
  • Include your GPA.
  • Contact information is a must. Include a current email address and phone number.
  • Check spelling and grammar. Proofread your application. Ask a friend to review your resume for mistakes.
  • Be specific. We want to know the length of each internship, volunteer and work experience, what skills you developed and how you applied your knowledge.

  • Location. If you go to a university/college where we recruit, your first interview will take place on campus. But if you don’t or you missed our interview dates, the first interview will be over the phone. Check Cargill's recruiting event calendar to learn when we’ll be visiting your campus.
  • Interview process and how to prepare. First-round interviews last 30 to 45 minutes. We focus on your previous experience, skills and qualifications. We want to hear your strongest answers to all questions, so review your resume and think through how you would answer questions about your specific experience, qualifications and why you would be an asset to Cargill.
  • Who you’ll meet. You might be interviewed by recruiters, hiring managers, employees who are university alumni or leaders. They’ll be interested in learning more about you and sharing information you want to know about Cargill.
  • What you should bring. Bring extra copies of your resume – especially if you’ve made changes since applying online.
  • What you should wear. We want you to look and feel your best. Make a great impression by dressing business professional.

Talent Days. Applicants for full-time positions are invited to a second round of interviews during our “Talent Days.” We host these events at various Cargill locations. You’ll meet with various leaders, have an opportunity to tour our facilities, and see what our work environment and culture are like first hand.

When you’ll receive an offer

  • For internships and co-ops, we extend offers within 1 week after the first interview.
  • For full-time positions, we extend offers within 1 week after the second interview.

Background check. After we make a job offer, we will check your background. In some cases we will conduct motor-vehicle checks. We do this to ensure we are offering a safe environment for all employees.
