receives ISO 9001:2000 certification

Cargill AgHorizons' Quality Control grain testing lab in
Winnipeg recently received certification under the ISO 9001:2000
Quality Management System, the most current ISO certification
available.
"For years we have operated our Quality Control lab
under strict standards in efforts to maintain a high degree
of customer service. We recently realized the need to have
our systems recognized on a larger scale to obtain a much
more widely recognized 'stamp of approval.' Over the next
several months, we will be making a concerted effort to register
more of our locations under ISO to reinforce our reputation
as an industry leader," said Luc Sarrazin, Manager for
Environment Health and Safety, Cargill AgHorizons.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an
international certification that recognizes superior quality
management systems in a variety of industries. To qualify,
organizations must adhere to rigorous standards that ensure
management responsibility, customer focus, effective internal
and external communications and a dedication to quality.
Once qualified under ISO, businesses must continually prove
their worth. Annual audits are carried out in order to retain
ISO status. If a company lets performance slide, status is
taken away. It's a method used to ensure best practices never
fall by the wayside.
"With this certification, our customers can be assured
that grain sent to our Quality Control lab is being tested
by a team of professionals operating under the highest quality
standards," said Sarrazin.

facilities across Canada and works in partnership with producers
to develop grain-marketing solutions. Cargill AgHorizons is
