builds crop inputs facility in Carberry
October 1, 2002
Carberry, MB - Cargill AgHorizons is pleased to announce
that construction has begun on a $1.5 million full service
crop inputs facility.
The facility, located on a 17-acre site, is being built approximately
10 miles (16 km) north of Cargill's existing facility in Carberry.
The move will allow the crop inputs business to reposition
itself in a better location to serve its farmer customer base.
The business is set to open in spring 2003.
"This enhanced facility will allow us to improve the
level of service we offer to farmers in the area. We appreciate
the input our customers have given us in making this decision
and letting us know what they need from us," said Lars
Petersen, Facility Manager, Cargill AgHorizons in Carberry.
In addition to Cargill's existing products and services,
the new facility will carry a variety of seed and crop protection
products along with a full line of custom application equipment.
The expanded business will also offer liquid and dry fertilizer
products and a high capacity blending system.
Cargill will continue to offer fertilizer delivery and custom
application, as well as agronomy and grain marketing services
for producers.
Cargill AgHorizons operates grain handling and crop inputs
facilities across the Prairies and works in partnership with
producers to develop grain-marketing solutions.
