London, ON - Today Cargill Limited announced the acquisition of Elliott Bros. Grain & Feeds Limited.

The agricultural business, based in Shetland, ON, has sold all assets to Cargill Limited and will become part of the Cargill AgHorizons grain and crop inputs business. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

We have no doubt that Cargill will carry on that tradition for our customers and for future customers," said Alex Elliott, co-owner of the family-owned business.

Employees of Elliott Bros. will transfer to Cargill AgHorizons as part of the acquisition.

"By acquiring this business, we are able to ensure that farmer customers are being served in the area and will continue to have access to quality products and services in Shetland. Elliott Bros. has built a solid reputation among farmers for providing quality and value. Cargill AgHorizons has 74 retail and grain handling locations across Canada, with 19 of those in the province of Ontario. In addition to the new Shetland facility, Cargill has farm service centres in Glencoe, Kerwood, Melbourne and Strathroy. Cargill is also part of a joint venture partnership with South West Ag Partners Inc. in Rutherford.
