Each year, employees at the company's head office in Winnipeg take part in a United Way fundraising drive. Cargill employees have historically given generously. Employees take part in a Day of Caring, where volunteers choose a United Way agency to assist. In the past, Cargill has helped at agency book and bake sales and added a fresh coat of paint to the walls of a pregnancy distress centre. Cargill has demonstrated corporate leadership through a 2:1 matching program that is unique among Manitoba's Top 50 corporate donors. For every $1 raised by employees, the company donates $2.

Cargill Limited maintains United Way corporate recognition status as a Gold Community Builder, which recognizes United Way corporate funding between $50,000 and $74,999. The company has also received recognition as one of the Top 50 Workplace Campaigns along with such companies as Investors Group, JRI and Great West Life.
